About Dr. Mattingly
I am a licensed clinical psychologist working with adults in individual and couples therapy. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) from Antioch University Santa Barbara, where my dissertation focused on ADHD. I completed my predoctoral internship at the Wright Institute Los Angeles (WILA) and my postdoctoral fellowship in private practice in Santa Barbara. I have 9 years of clinical experience working with a range of clients and concerns.
I aim to create a space where you feel understood and safe to explore whatever is bringing you to therapy, whether that is anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or the lasting effects of past trauma. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. I combine practical support with a deeper look at the patterns shaping how you think, feel, and relate to others.
Much of my recent clinical work has focused on helping men in their 20s and 30s build confidence in dating, relationships, and friendships, as well as manage the pressures of career and work-related stress. I also work with couples looking to reconnect after conflict and rebuild trust, communication, and intimacy.
Fee
Sessions for individuals and couples are typically 50 minutes. However, longer sessions can be arranged.
I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I don't bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement. Many clients find they're able to recover a meaningful portion of the session cost this way.
Therapy is also typically covered by pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), which can make care more accessible. I'd encourage you to contact your insurance carrier or account manager to verify your specific coverage and reimbursement rates before we begin.
If you have any questions about fees or the reimbursement process, please reach out.
